Central Christian Church
Our History
The roots of our congregation date back to the late 1800's but we've worshipped at the current location since 1906. This date is clearly marked on our church building as the cornerstone was laid on Sunday, September 30th and then dedicated in May 1907. An architectural feature of our church is stained-glass windows, and the light shining through them can be a sight to behold. Over the years, thousands have worshipped at Central Christian and responded to the gospel message.
In 2014, the fellowship of believers expanded as members from the former St. John's United Church of Christ were welcomed into our congregation. Central Christian is involved with serving local ministries and also participates with the denomination in international missions.
There is a saying, "We are a part of all we have met." This is evident through the rich heritage of our church but we are focused on the future. As the apostle Paul encourages us, we "press on toward the goal" to which God is calling us "heavenward in Christ Jesus." (Phil. 3:14)

About Our
Minister
Rev. Stew Royce was born in Canada and worked in the newspaper business prior to his training for church ministry. In 2000, he began attending Lexington Theological Seminary and also served as student minister for a Disciples congregation. Completing his Master of Divinity degree in 2004, Stew has twenty years of professional experience in church ministry. He is a dedicated servant of the Great Commission, where we are called to "go and make disciples" of Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:19)

The Youth
At Central Christian Church, we cherish your children because Jesus does. Jesus really states, "Let the young children come to me," in Matthew 14:19. Jesus is King is the foundation upon which Central Christian Church Kids is based. Your kid will receive age-appropriate instruction on the Bible and how it connects to Jesus every Sunday. The lectures are engaging and friendly, and they are delivered by devoted volunteers who serve Jesus by ministering to you and your children.
